20th November 2014
With only one more day to go, my year as Captain has certainly flown by. I will be giving a report of the year at the Club AGM tomorrow, but if you cannot attend, can I give you all my heartfelt thanks for your support and kindness this year.
I have been overwhelmed by your generosity to my charity, raising over £4750. I will distribute this to Cancer Reaearch UK (Prostate Cancer), Beaumond House (hospice and respite) and Sue’s Place (childrens bereavement councilling).
There are so many positive aspects to this club and equally there are parts that we need to work on and improve; we can only do that with the help and goodwill of you, the members. We must also remember that we are a club, and we will only thrive through the participation of members, we all need to keep volunteering our services for the good of the club.
We have some challenging years ahead and it is essential that we stay united and continue to build this great club of ours. We are seen as a high quality members club and I know that other clubs envy the vibrancy of our clubhouse and the quality of our course. Next year we will be the County Course, this is a good chance to sell ourselves and to make sure we keep attracting new members and visitors.
Finally, I know that in Sean, we have a very popular and capable captain next year, I hope you can give him and his Vice Captain the support and encouragement that you gave me.
Thank you all
