Sunday 24th September saw the the long standing, traditional match against Seacroft GC for the Oldham Cup.
The teams for the match are put together from the Club's respective Directors and Committee members and has been taking place since 1931. Although Newark has recorded the most victories over that time, recent years have seen a slump in form so our Captain, David Yarnell was delighted when he and Professional Paul Bagshaw set the tone by winning their game. Fortunes shifted however with the next three pairs all losing before fortunes shifted dramatically once again as the NGC tail wagged. The last four games all returning wins meaning the gleaming golden trophy is once more back in the NGC trophy cabinet where it belongs!
