Ladies Autumn Meeting, September 18th 2018

42 ladies played in the Autumn Meeting this year, a great turnout on what was a very blustery day, a wild wind but at least it remained dry and quite warm.

Having played 18 hole Medal and Putting Competitions, taking time to sample all the delicious goodies in the Halfway House, we all came back into the Clubhouse to sit down together for Carvery and Crumble - it must be Autumn !- thanks to Rob, Les, Gav, and all staff , for a lovely meal.

There was a real buzz, and happy atmosphere.

The prize table was beautiful. Thanks to Ladies' President Kath for organising the Winter Flowering Tubs with Hollybeck Nurseries.

Although the day was wild, the scores were wonderful, and it was lovely to see some of our “stalwarts “, who loyally support The Ladies Section, and haven’t won in a while, get their just rewards.

Ladies Exchange Day - Mapperley Park Golf Club 3rd July 2018

A great day out was enjoyed by 24 ladies from Newark Golf Club who went to Mapperley Golf Club on our Annual Exchange Day.

We were very warmly welcomed by Sue Bunting of Mapperley Ladies, who also acted as our Starter.

After Bacon Cobs and drinks, we set off in the very warm sunshine to play a Stableford Competition, on what is a very challenging course.

It is just a little more undulating - ok hilly - than Newark, but - wow - what stunning views you get from the top of those hills.

We all returned to the Clubhouse for an excellent meal , followed by prize giving.

Our overall winner on the day was Sarah Rigby with a fabulous 36 points. The other winners were :- Caroll McLachlan 30, Linda Dunwoodie 29, Shelley Pritchard 29, Nina Brittain 28, Sue Birkett 28, Erica Sansom 28, & Kath Sharman 26.

Well played everyone.

Thanks to everyone at Mapperley for a great day - Sue Bunting, The Pro Shop Staff, and particularly the caterer - Adrian Mason , and his staff.

Most of all, thanks to the ladies who came to play Mapperley, hope you all enjoyed your day.

Josie, Ladies’ Captain.
