Ladies' Captain's Day 11 July 2017
It doesn't seem five minutes since I agreed to become vice captain and now my ladies captains day has been and gone. How the past two years have flown.
Yesterday started off wet and that was the theme of the day, but the ladies and
my gentlemen guests did not let this put them off. The weather certainly did
not dampen the day.
Thanks to my helpers in the half way house, I was able to spend some time with
the social ladies who came up at lunch time.
The rain became more persistent, as the day progressed, but nobody came in
early well done everybody.
I certainly enjoyed the day, and it went by very quickly, everything just
flowed, thankfully on the day without any problems.
My thanks go to everyone who helped out in any way to make it run so smoothly.
A big thank you to Jo and Alison for sorting the cards and prize winners out as
quickly as they did, never an easy job.
Thank you to Nick, Karen, Matt, and Jack and all of the catering staff for a
Well done to everybody who won. Well done to Miyako on winning the Ladies
Captains prize for the ladies, the rain certainly did not make any difference
to your game and to David Yarnell on winning the men's prize on the day.
A big thank you to all of you ladies for my cards and presents, and also the
text messages of good wishes. They are all gratefully received and thank you
for your support.

Ladies Spring Meeting - 25 April 2017
Ladies Spring Meeting Tuesday 25th April 2017.
We had a cold but bright sunny start to our Spring Meeting. There was a good field of ladies playing both in the morning and in the afternoon. The morning was a medal competition and the afternoon a waltz.
After about two hours the dark clouds and the rain and snow flurries arrived, but this did not put the ladies off their game. The rest of the day continued with rain/snow showers, a typical April day.
The prize table for the day were plants from Hollybeck Nurseries, as always they delivered a beautiful array of baskets and planters.
My thanks to Kath Sharman for organizing the prize table.
The winner of the Spring Trophy was Margaret Lewis with a score of Nett 70. Well done Margaret.
The winner for the bronze diversion was Erica Sansom 95-25=70. Well done Erica.
The afternoon waltz competition was won by D Britton/S. Pritchard/V. Siddons with a score of 35 points.
The winner of the putting competition was Linda Dunwoodie.
The winner of two's was Eva Glasby.
Well done to all of the ladies who played in the afternoon waltz as the weather was more of a winter feel than spring.
The day finished with a meal and presentation.
My thanks go to all of the ladies who helped behind the scenes to make the day go without any problems.
Ladies' Captain Drive-in, Match & Supper
Tuesday 14th March saw the Ladies' Captain's Drive in and the Captain v Vice Captain match afterwards.
The day was a lovely spring day, with the sun shinning. Thankfully the Drive-in went well. I managed to hit the majority of the golf balls somewhere down the 1st fairway.
Vice Captain Josie was unable to join us on the day but she assured me that she wished her team on from afar.
The afternoon remained fine and everyone appeared to enjoy their match. This was followed by a meal and the presentation of the winter trophies.
Congratulations to all who won.
The match between the Captain and the Vice Captain was close, it was won by the Captains team.
An enjoyable day.
