Ladies' Charity Day

Ladies Charity Day – 15 October

Ladies' Charity Day - 15th October 2019

31 Ladies and 25 Gentlemen took part in  the Ladies’ Charity Day Competition.  All proceeds from the day are to go to the Ladies’ Captain’s chosen Charity The Alzheimer’s Society.

At first it was doubtful whether the competition would go ahead due to the severe rain which had fallen over the last couple of days, however, Alex and his Greenstaff  worked wonders and the competition went ahead.  The Ladies were playing for the Jubilee Trophy and the Gents for prizes supplied by the Ladies’ Captain.   The winner of the Jubilee Trophy with a score of 33 points was Julia Hatcher followed closely by Tish Applewhite with 32 points.  The winner of the Gents prize was Patrick Roche with 38 points with Len Astill, the  Senior’s Captain coming in second place with 37 points.  Congratulations to all the Winners.

The total monies raised on the day amounted to £1,137.60 and I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who took part in the competition, the Ladies’ Committee for all their help and for collecting Raffle Prizes from local businesses and friends and to all the Club Staff who helped on the day.  Finally, my sincere thanks to everyone who supported this day and made it so successful in raising a fantastic amount for my Charity.

Mixed Exchange Day

Mixed Exchange Day this year took place on Monday 9 September at Scraptoft Golf Club.

24 players took part in a Pairs  Betterball Stableford Competition. We were very lucky with the weather, drizzly for the first couple of holes but then it fined up nicely. The course was in excellent condition and quite honestly I have never seen so much green grass.

We had a very enjoyable meal and were looked after very well by Rob and his staff.

The winners with a score of 41 points were  Sue and David Birkett followed by Shelley and Mark Pritchard with 39 points, Keith and Sandra Goodwin with 39 points on count back from Alison Hartley and Graham Cobb.

Thankyou all for taking part and look out for next year’s date at Worksop.
