Ladies Noticeboard

Firstly, may I thank all the ladies who were able to attend the AGM and for all your best wishes.

Those of you who were in attendance will know that I was unable to appoint a Vice Captain at the time of the meeting but I am pleased to say, that, after a talk with Mrs Sue Burgin (our Match Secretary), she has kindly agreed to take up the position for which I am very pleased and grateful. This will keep the Ladies' Section running nicely.

I look forward to seeing you all soon and don't forget that if you are able to attend our Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 11 December, all the details are on the Ladies' Noticeboard in the Locker Room.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.

Ladies & Seniors Autumn AmAm

Ladies and Seniors Autumn AmAm

Tuesday 30th October 2018 started grey, damp, and dreary, especially so as it was an early 8.30 am Shotgun Start, some of us were barely awake when 48 players set off to their starting points.

Fortunately, the weather brightened during the day, and some excellent scores were recorded.

Even if the golf was not quite up to standard, the refreshments at Halfway were. Many thanks to Senior Captain Keith’s good lady for the delicious scones and sausage rolls, and thanks also to Judy Spilsbury and the team for serving the goodies, along with hot drinks.

And the usual “Seniors Pick Me Up “ (alcohol of some sort), although I’m not sure that improved everyone’s game.

The golf was followed by our  customary lunch - Jacket Potatoes and a delicious variety of fillings, thanks to Rob and all the catering staff.

Thankyou to the Ladies for the Lunch, and to the Seniors for Halfway House, Prizes, and Lunchtime Drinks .

The Competition was 4Ball AmAm Stableford - 1 Lady+ 1 Senior scoring, and I’m grateful for the participation of our “Honorary Ladies” - Petra Woodhall and Kenina Brittain, so everyone got a game.

Ladies Autumn Meeting, September 18th 2018

42 ladies played in the Autumn Meeting this year, a great turnout on what was a very blustery day, a wild wind but at least it remained dry and quite warm.

Having played 18 hole Medal and Putting Competitions, taking time to sample all the delicious goodies in the Halfway House, we all came back into the Clubhouse to sit down together for Carvery and Crumble - it must be Autumn !- thanks to Rob, Les, Gav, and all staff , for a lovely meal.

There was a real buzz, and happy atmosphere.

The prize table was beautiful. Thanks to Ladies' President Kath for organising the Winter Flowering Tubs with Hollybeck Nurseries.

Although the day was wild, the scores were wonderful, and it was lovely to see some of our “stalwarts “, who loyally support The Ladies Section, and haven’t won in a while, get their just rewards.
