EGU Gold Medal Winner
Alan Maidlow won The Hambling Trophy and the EGU Gold Medal on Sunday 5th May with a great score of 77-13-64.
The London Pride EGU Gold Medal is the EGU's club competition with the national final staged every year at the National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa. The event consists of 81 golfers from clubs all across England competing for the title of Champion Handicap Golfer; the 81 golfers are chosen by way of the Nett Score against the Competition Standard Scratch.
The Gold Medal is sponsored by Fuller's London Pride. The EGU say they are delighted to be working with such a well-known and respected brand to support the grassroots of golf in England. The format for the Championship is a 36 hole stableford played over 2 days with the best nett score over 36 holes winning. Finalists qualify via their County Union affiliated club. Good luck to Alan; lets hope he gets into the final.

Daily Mail Foursomes
Congratulations to Geoff Walker and Roger Nicholson who won the 2nd round of the Daily Mail Foursomes here at Newark against a very strong pair from Sleaford. It was a very close game until the 16th when Geoff and Roger took the lead; on the 17th the opposition finished in the greenside bunker and that opportunity was grasped and the game won 2&1.
