Captain's Away Day
The Captain sends his grateful thanks to everyone who supported his exchange day, held on Friday 21st June, at Peterborough Milton Golf Club. He particularly wants to thank his Vice Captain, Colin Dixon and a former Captain, Maurice Mayfield, for their assistance on the day; he said it was a fantastic day and one he will long remember. Congratulations to Richard Hinds and Tony Brough winners of the 2013 Senior Open with 46 pts. The Club Captain, David Hood, also congratulated Peter Smith, Senior Captain, and everyone who assisted with reception, starting, halfway house and scoring. £489 was raised by way of a raffle and half way house donations which goes to Beaumond House and Cancer Research. The winning pair also thanked the greenstaff for presenting the course in superb condition saying it was without doubt one of the best courses they had ever played.

Coronation Cup Winner
New Member Richard Dale passed on his thanks to everyone he has met since his arrival at the club for making him welcome and being extremely friendly. Rick joined Newark from Carholme earlier this year and says it has proved to be an excellent move; he says he believes the course and facilities are second to none in the area. Rick is certainly enjoying his golf - winning the Coronation Cup on Sunday 2nd June. Facebook
Charity Am Am Success
The Open Charity Am Am this year was held in aid of The Alzheimers's Society, Newark branch. The Club Captain, David Hood, thanked everyone who had been involved in the organisation of the event and also the field of 200 players who had taken part. He said a dry day and a sunny afternoon had been greatly enjoyed by everyone who took part and he was delighted to be able to present the society with a cheque for £2532.20. Mr. Ron Taylor, fundraising Ambassador and Campaign Group leader, gratefully accepted the cheque and explained how important such local contributions were to the organisation. Alzheimer's Society.

Medal Finals Day and Trophy Presentation Evening will no longer take place on the same day. Trophy Presentation Evening has been arranged for Friday 15th November, further detail to follow, but will include the presentation of medals and the Walter Hughes Medal Finals Trophy.
