Charity Am Am Success
The Open Charity Am Am this year was held in aid of The Alzheimers's Society, Newark branch. The Club Captain, David Hood, thanked everyone who had been involved in the organisation of the event and also the field of 200 players who had taken part. He said a dry day and a sunny afternoon had been greatly enjoyed by everyone who took part and he was delighted to be able to present the society with a cheque for £2532.20. Mr. Ron Taylor, fundraising Ambassador and Campaign Group leader, gratefully accepted the cheque and explained how important such local contributions were to the organisation. Alzheimer's Society.

Medal Finals Day and Trophy Presentation Evening will no longer take place on the same day. Trophy Presentation Evening has been arranged for Friday 15th November, further detail to follow, but will include the presentation of medals and the Walter Hughes Medal Finals Trophy.
Hole in One for Charlie....
Junior Captain, Charlie Bentley, took a 3 wood off the 12th tee on Sunday playing in the Sean O'Grady and Howitt Cup Qualifyer , knocked it on to the green and then found to his delight that he'd scored a Hole in One. To round his weekend off in style he claimed 1st place in the junior competition for the Grant and Green Trophy. Well done Charlie !!

New Course Record
Steve Brotherhood set a new Mens Amateur Course Record in the May Monthly Medal last Thursday with a 65; beating John Cooke's record 66 which has stood since 8th June 2008. Steve plays off a handicap of +1; his scores were:
Success for Rob
Congratulations to our Club Professional Rob Ellis who finished in 2nd place in the Senior PGA Professional Championship at Northants County. Rob sandwiched a 2nd round 69 between two 72's and was more than pleased with his showing given the majority of his time is spent tyrying to improve our play! When interviewed he said " This is a fantastic result. At the start of the week my first aim was to make the cut and try and get in the top 20 to get Mottram Hall. Anything else was going to be a bonus so I'm delighted with 2nd.
