With a complete lack of any substantial amounts of rainfall for months the final major event of the season, The Walter Hughes Medal Finals, was played on Sunday 2nd October in warm, blustery conditions. On Sunday 9th of October the Captain's Charity Competition took place. Open to both Ladies and Gentlemen the competition is a 3 person team event and was very well supported with153 members taking part; only the lack of daylight hours prevented an even bigger field participating. The overall winners were Andy Cobb , Adrian Cobb and Phil Haynes. The Turkey Trot competitions brought the 2011 season to a close. Always popular these competitions are the final opportunity of the year to achieve some success and this was completed successfully by Gary Hales, Gary Kirton and John Kevill-Byrne.
