The Junior Open was held on Wednesday 27th July with over 50 juniors playing for the chance to win a 3-Day Lee Westwod Academy coaching course in 2012.   The Boys Best Gross 73 was won by  Adam Hindmarsh, from Carholme Golf Club and is the Daily Telegraph Qualifier;  the  Girls Best Gross, 86, was Amy Oxbury, Norwood Golf Club, and is also the Daily Telegraph Qualifier.  In the nett competition  Max Johnson from Newark GC was in 1st Place with a score of 83:26:57.  Max is the Junior Open Winner 2011 and wins Lee Westwood Academy 3-Day Coaching for 2012.  In 2nd Place with a score of 76:11:65 was Daniel Oliver, also from Newark.  Josh Beaven, from Carholme Golf Club and Jacob Morley from Market Rasen Golf Club, were winners of the nearest the pin competitions on the 2nd and 5th holes.

The Newark Open took place on Sunday 31st July with a full field of 196 players.  The first golfers teed off at 8am,  the last at 4pm, and everyone enjoyed superb weather all day.  The overall winning pair were Philip Shaw and Gordon Cushing from Pike Hills Golf Club with 47 points; second was Ed Gullen and Bill Mazey from Wakefield Golf Club with a score of 45 points, and in third place was Michael Booth and John Wood from Tankersley Park Golf Club with 44 points.  The best gross stableford score on the day was Matt Harrison and James Storr with 39 points; Matt is a member of Newark Golf Club and James is a member of Canwick Park Golf Club in Lincoln.  There were eight major prizes in total along with 6 nearest the pin and long drive prizes kindly sponsored by Wagtail Country Park at Marston near Grantham.
