Gentlemen: Kelwick Cups.
From 54 pairs, 2007 winners John Cooke snr and John Cooke jnr, retained the Kelwick Cups [a pairs match-play knockout for men] winning the final match 4 and 2.
Gentlemen: Titchfield Cup.
This is a medal competition played over two rounds. The cup was donated in 1923 when the Marquis and Marchioness of Titchfield were elected as honorary members of the club.
Round One had 106 entries with 17 sub par scores. Moritz Dawkins [nett 64] led the field followed by Paul Wood [nett 66 and the lowest gross of 74] and Adam Woolley [nett 67]. Joint fourth are Carol McLachlan [nett 68] and John Marshall [nett 68]
Round Two had 103 entries with last years' winner, David Bentley [nett 62] returning the lowest nett score of the round. He was followed by: Gary Beech [nett 65], Thomas Chrysanthou [nett 66 countback], Adam Woolley [nett 66 cb] and Duncan Martin [nett 67]. Beech and Martin had the lowest gross score of 72.
After the combination of the two rounds, Adam Woolley [67+66= nett 133] collected his third trophy this season beating defending trophy holder, David Bentley [74+62= nett 136] by three shots. Woolley had already won the Coronation Cup and the Averham Trophy [another two round event]. In third to fifth places respectively were; Gary Beech [72+65= nett 137]; Paul Wood [66+73=nett 139] and Keith Toon [69+71=nett 140].
Ladies: Presidents Trophy.
Barbara Sale won the Ladies' Presidents Trophy with 39 points, followed by Edith Pacey [37 pts] and third, Judy Spilsbury [37 pts] who were ordered by count-back. Also on 37 points were Valerie Bell, Elsa Lang and Brenda Wood.
Ladies: Charity Day.
Raised just over £1100 to bring the accumulated total to £2100 this season, for the Army Benevolent Fund.
Ladies: Silver League v Radcliffe.
The team had a 6-1 home win against Radcliffe GC, to go to second place in the table.
Ladies: Veterans Scratch Cup:
A singles knockout competition was won by Jane Tucker for the fifth consecutive time since 2004.
Ladies: Scratch Cup.
A singles knockout competition was won by Eva Glasby to record her 13th success in the competition.
Juniors: Interclub League v Springwater
Following a creditable away draw at league leaders Stanton, Newark had a home fixture against emerging contenders Springwater, who have appeared in the promotion race after completing a backlog of fixtures. Newark managed a fine win at 6-2 to leapfrog Springwater. Team; Sash Mirhadi; Adam Woolley; Danny Yates; Freddie Skelton; Ben Partridge; Ben Sheard; ; Ryan Maclachlan and Tom Chrysanthou.
Seniors: College Pines GC Open.
Following their third spot in the Newark Open, club pairing Alec Rose and Bryan Andrews scored 46 points to win the College Pines Seniors Open. As morning starters they received the best of the weather as rain in the afternoon destroyed many cards. With a strong finish they scored 13 points [3,3,4,3] in the last 4 holes to finish two points clear of the second pair.
