Following the competition, Club Captain, Fraser Macintyre presented a cheque for £1309.06 to Beaumond House Community Hospice, the clubs chosen charity for 2010. Macintyre said: “We wanted to aid the excellent support that Beaumond House provides for the community.” This competition for mixed teams of three was won by Jim Inger, Kevin Ward and Paul Ward, scoring 86 points. They were clear winners ahead of Robert Hastings, Stephen Patterson and Neil Pepper with 80 points and second spot. In third place with 79 points were John Jalland, Brian Rollitt and Howard Jones. Neil Pepper [hole two]: Jim Inger [hole five]; Tom Ashmore [hole fifteen] and John Cree [hole seventeen] took the nearest the pins at the par threes. Richard Sperke hit the longest drive.
The Seniors’ section of the Club held their own Charity Competition, also for the benefit of Beaumond House Hospice. Together with various other events throughout the year they raised a total of £1,618. Earlier in the year they raised £277 for Cancer research. The charity competition was won by Jim Joyce [41 points] ahead of John Cuthbertson [40 pts] and David Britton [40 pts].

The Ladies section of the club raised £3100 for breast services in the local area. Jill Pearce won the Jubilee Trophy [the ladies charity competition] which provided over £800. While a pink cocktail afternoon raised £720. Ladies captain, Edith Pacey commented: “I am delighted that we have raised this amount and am very grateful to all those who have contributed.”
