Gentlemen: Interclub Scratch League v Stanton.

Newark hosted Stanton GC and achieved a very useful win; four games to one.  Jim Hallam led off to win 4 and 3 and Phil Trueman, in his third appearance, continued his unbeaten performance by winning  2 and 1.  Dave Britten lost 3 and 2.  John E Cooke  lost the first three holes but responded well and produced a  3 and 1 win.

Tim Cooke, aided by a fine putting performance, won 5 and 4.  Cooke scored eight pars in his game and after birdies at 6/7/9/11 and 12 walked off the thirteenth green at five under.  Cooke had been selected to appear in the previous County match, but was unable to play due to family commitments.  Newark now leap-frog Stanton [fifth last year with 12 pts], and lie in third position in the league.  Next match is at home on Monday 29th June against second placed, Sherwood Forest. 

Gentlemen: Centenary Cup.

Nett results of the medal competition are as follows:1- Andrew Roe 64; 2-Alex Whitfield 65; 3- Ryan Maclachlan 66; 4- Chris Weaver 67 cb; 5- Chris Simpson 67 cb. Charles Paley had the lowest gross score of 72 from 127 entries.

Ladies: Stableford Cup

There were fifty entries and the results [points] are as follows:1- Sue Simpson 40 pts: 2- Rita Smalley 38 pts; 3- Sue Burns 37 pts.

Seniors: Hall of Fame.

There were twenty-three entries and the results [points] are as follows:1- Michael Illsley 42 pts;: 2- William Strowger 40pts; 3- Patrick Mountford 39 pts.
